Job Description

About the Role

As our Product Marketing Specialist in McKinney, TX, you will have ownership over all aspects of the global product portfolio, from managing day-to-day issues from operations to planning. You will aid in meeting company growth and profit goals through assessment of market needs and subsequent development of product plans, product marketing, approvals, and analysis for new or existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead product management and marketing initiatives for assigned product portfolio to grow the global business.
  • Manage and analyze data related to product portfolio (i.e., financials, service levels, product health) applying excel and PowerBI tools.
  • Present product status and portfolio planning intentions to leadership through quarterly reviews.
  • Gain knowledge and awareness of competitive products and strategies for use in defining new products and improvements.
  • Manage product literature and website presences related to assigned products including all associated bulletins, manuals, and guides.
  • Assist in providing relevant tools to promote products & solutions to the sales channel (application guides, competitive guides, marcom, etc.)
  • Coordinate significant product parameters throughout life cycle (i.e., pricing, capabilities, improvements, etc.)
  • Assist sales channel in pursuits and key accounts by supporting necessary special pricing approvals and product selection insight.
  • Work with sales to develop educational training for sales channel and end users, support industry tradeshows and other customer visits.
  • Support product development through engineering initiatives related to assigned products, including developing product plans and improvements.
  • Coordinate preparation of new product (NPD) or product modification plans and provide marketing and technical feedback.
  • Support cost reductions for products in portfolio to improve profitability, including idea generation, financial analysis, and project execution.
  • Identify product approvals required for various global regions and coordinate with engineering and quality to maintain these approvals.
  • Manage and approve engineering change requests.
  • Coordinate with quality team to resolve quality concerns and lead related processes.
  • Develop monthly demand forecasts to support the Sales & Operations Planning process and develop product planning bills.
  • Monitor product lead times and coordinate with operations and supply chain teams to manage risks to service levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • General knowledge of company products and customer applications.
  • Good communication skills across various media to coordinate with manufacturing sites, sales offices, and cross-functional teams.
  • Good presentation abilities to present portfolio initiatives and product overviews to customers.
  • Strong analytical abilities to gain product insight for operations, marketing, and sales initiatives and work within ERP systems.
  • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time to manufacturing locations, customer sites, and industry events.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in engineering, sales, business development, marketing, or any other equivalent.
  • Knowledge of industrial valve business, marketplace, competitive products, customers, and applications.
