About the Role

The Decking/Trim Specialist is a customer service representative sales role responsible for generating new business and supporting product sales related to Trex Decking, railing, and Weyerhaeuser Signature One Trim in Northern California. The role involves customer-facing activities, product knowledge training, troubleshooting dealer issues, supporting sales trends, and developing marketing strategies to grow business with existing and new customers. The company has a long-standing history of delivering quality building products and solutions, emphasizing safety, excellence, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive development and execution of local strategies to support profitable growth for the assigned product/brand in alignment with distribution and manufacturer goals.
  • Utilize solutions selling and product training with current and prospective customers.
  • Support dealer stocking and program opportunities and aid in the design process.
  • Generate new demand by increasing attachment of Trex decking/railing and WY Signature trim in Northern California.
  • Act as a key resource and subject matter expert for peers and customers regarding training, troubleshooting issues, and overall sales and product support.
  • Market products/brands by developing promotions, collaborating on branding opportunities, and supporting customer samples, literature, and display needs.

Requirements

  • Understands the geographic market, including competitors, customers, supply chain, and logistical drivers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills that are authentic, adaptive, and persuasive.
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Demonstrates strong relationships with key product vendors and customers.
  • Understands and articulates financial drivers of retail, wholesale, and construction industries.
  • Experience in wood products decking product line.
  • Minimum HS Diploma/GED.
  • 3+ years of experience with at least 2 years in building materials distribution sales or product management.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with solutions selling and product training.
  • Knowledge of the construction and retail industry financial drivers.
  • Experience working with dealer stocking and design support.

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in building materials distribution sales or product management.

  • Competitive salary range of $62,000 - $94,000 based on skills and experience.
