Key Responsibilities

  • Function as day-to-day point of contact with clients and governing agencies including the Division of the State Architect.
  • Manage the overall quality of small and large projects through all design phases including client interaction, schedule and financial performance.
  • Assist Principal-in-Charge with generating Design Services Proposals.
  • Understand contracts and run projects from inception through to project closeout.
  • Manage project teams, determining staffing assignments required to meet project milestones.
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management including budgeting, staffing, billing and consultant billing.
  • Manage and/or generate details, both exterior and interior within a Revit context.
  • Lead in coordination with consultants and the design team.
  • Coordinate material identification and specifications.
  • Quality control of the contract documents.
  • Lead all aspects of the Construction Administration phase including meetings, submittals and preparation of field sketches.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage project priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degrees in architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in managing public school projects.
  • Must possess Division of the State Architect experience with the full life cycle of project review, approval and certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision Software a plus.
  • Proficient with computer-assisted design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • California Architecture license.
  • Passion for and fundamental understanding of sustainable design.
  • LEED Accreditation preferred.
  • Must be able to interface with clients and maintain the relationship while managing the project.
  • Must be able to put fee proposals together for projects.
  • Must have experience managing the project budget.
  • Must be able to contribute towards RFPs.
  • Manage and assign staff on the project.
  • Ability to develop business development and bring in clients is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Deltek Vision Software.
  • LEED Accreditation.
  • Experience developing business development and bringing in clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degrees in architecture.
  • California Architecture license.
