QA Automation Engineer / SDET

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure products and features developed for the EV Cloud platform and related customer products meet high standards for quality in form and function.
• Champion, evangelize, and incorporate best practices in software testing and quality assurance.
• Engage in hands-on development and maintenance of manual and automated test plans, scripts, and scenarios.
• Execute automated, functional, integration, regression, performance/load/stress, and end-to-end testing.
• Work with colleagues, developers, product managers, customer support, and operations to develop in-depth product knowledge.
• Test a variety of EV charging station brands, models, and firmware versions for compatibility with cloud-based services.
• Collaborate with third-party station networks to ensure roaming integration integrity and compatibility.
• Participate in product launches, deployment, and release management activities.
• Meet quality assurance metrics and performance benchmarks.
• Support Scrum teams with estimation, planning, and testing strategies.
• Validate, replicate, and triage reported production defects.
• Focus on manual testing, defect reporting, and ensuring the product meets functional and non-functional requirements.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, test case design, defect reporting, and quality assurance processes.
• Experience with test management tools such as Jira or TestRail.
• Basic programming knowledge, with focus on user experience and exploratory testing.
• Ability to verify software behavior from a user's perspective by testing as a black box.
• Experience working in Cloud/SaaS environments like AWS.
• Ability to log bugs and collaborate with developers to address issues.

Nice to Have

• Industry experience with station integration or open protocols like OCPP, OCPI, OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for automating application deployment, scaling, and management.

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of experience in testing methods and quality assurance.
