About the Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer II at Expeditors plays a crucial role in ensuring quality throughout the system development lifecycle by collaborating with project teams. The position involves contributing to requirements, creating and executing test strategies for features, developing test automation, and participating in bug triage. The engineer develops an understanding of the application, user needs, and business requirements from both user and technical perspectives. This on-site role is based in the greater Seattle, WA area, with locations including Downtown Seattle, Federal Way, Lynnwood, and Bellevue (Factoria). Candidates must be local or willing to relocate, as relocation assistance is not provided.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to requirements and create test strategies for features.
Create and execute test plans for manual and automation testing.
Develop and maintain test automation scripts.
Participate in bug triage and root cause analysis.
Develop an understanding of the application, user needs, and technical operation to test effectively.
Think outside the box to develop innovative testing strategies and uncover underlying issues.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in an IT Quality Assurance role.
Experience with writing and deploying test automation.
Experience with requirement gathering processes.
Experience creating test strategies and test cases for manual and automation testing.
Knowledge of testing best practices and assessing quality.
Ability to perform root cause analysis.
Customer service-oriented attitude and excellent time management skills.
Effective communication skills for different audiences.

Nice to Have

Understanding of the transportation/logistics industry.
Proficiency with Agile methodologies, test automation, and testing best practices.
Experience with at least one major programming language.
Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
Experience with GIT or other versioning tools, IntelliJ, Kafka, Docker, or Webdriver tools.
Experience with SQL and REST API calls.
Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Test Driven Development (TDD).
BS in Computer Science or comparable work experience.
At least two years' experience writing and maintaining automation tests.
