About the Role

The Salon Business Partner (SBP) is responsible for influencing and ensuring the growth and development of the local Stylist and Salon community by supplying the best products, education, and innovation the professional beauty industry has to offer. The role involves meeting and exceeding sales objectives within an assigned territory by leveraging brand-provided education, sales promotions, and professional business development. The SBP coordinates within OMNI channels and brand partners on education and training events to drive promotional opportunities in salons and stores, attends industry trade shows and events to deepen customer relationships, and works remotely within the specified territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage OMNI channel support teams to prospect, procure, and develop salon relationships through tailored salon business plans.
  • Collaborate with small business owners within the territory to identify and develop long-term success plans.
  • Influence existing and win new salon partnerships using industry tools and expertise to increase market share.
  • Promote and employ multi-faceted business strategies and services to develop trusting, profitable long-term partnerships.
  • Conduct regular meetings and consultations with salon owners to understand their goals, challenges, and opportunities, providing tailored solutions.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal brand partners to schedule, promote, and fulfill education and promotional events, including classes, shows, workshops, and in-salon education.
  • Partner with salon leadership to develop and execute training and education plans based on salon needs.
  • Utilize company resources and tools to leverage loyalty programs for salons and stylists.
  • Manage remote-order entry and perform administrative duties as needed.
  • Participate in regional and national sales meetings and utilize digital platforms and social media to engage the salon community.
  • Monitor product diversion and assess appropriate order quantities based on salon size and client base.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on the progress and effectiveness of beauty partner programs.

Requirements

  • High school degree required; bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
  • Demonstrated outside sales or industry experience and customer service skills.
  • Understanding and ability to harness social media effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, flexible, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
  • Possesses a valid state driver's license, good driving record, and auto insurance.
  • Must live within the assigned sales territory.
  • Ability to drive frequently and sometimes for prolonged periods, walk, and stand.
  • Uses professional judgment during all business activities.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Windows-based systems and applications; knowledge of Salesforce.com and social media is a plus.
  • Role involves significant travel, up to 75%, including overnight stays and weekends.
  • Ability to lift promotional materials and products up to 25 pounds, with bending as needed.
