About the Role

The Section 508 Enterprise Life Cycle (ELC) Analyst will work with the Section 508 Program Office within the US Department of the Treasury's IRS. The role involves providing Section 508 technical guidance and support for IT projects and initiatives, ensuring accessibility compliance throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The candidate will have knowledge of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and assist IRS project teams in understanding policies and standards related to accessibility.

Key Responsibilities

Provide IT projects with subject matter expertise on Section 508
Determine the Section 508 requirements for IT solutions slated for deployment
Determine 508 conformance level and recommend approaches where a gap exists
Articulate common methods for creating accessible Microsoft Office documents
Engage IRS IT project teams to analyze their project documentation, requirements, system specifications, equipment lists, and workflows
Advise the appropriate IRS Governance body of the inherent risks associated with deploying the new or revised IT system

Requirements

BS in Information Technology (preferred) or BS in Mathematics or AAS in Computer Programming and Development (acceptable depending on coursework)
IT Project Management certification
DHS Trusted Tester Certification
Knowledge of IT Risk Management practices
Knowledge of Problem-Solving methodologies
Knowledge of common Analysis techniques
Must be able to lift up to 15-25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods
Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust level
US Citizenship is required for a Public Trust clearance

Qualifications

BS in Information Technology (preferred)
AAS in Computer Programming and Development (acceptable depending on coursework)
BS in Mathematics
IT Project Management certification
DHS Trusted Tester Certification
