About the Role

The Senior Director, Consumer Sales at IGN Entertainment is responsible for generating revenue by overseeing a sales team that sells full 360 media campaigns including digital media, sponsorships, cross-platform solutions, branded content, social programs, influencer programs, events, experiential marketing, and commerce. The role involves managing client and agency relationships across key consumer accounts, developing sales strategies, coaching team members, and collaborating cross-departmentally to drive business results. Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for tracking sales pipeline, including booked revenue, and driving strategy for lead generation, prospecting, and breaking into new accounts.
  • Cultivate new and strengthen existing agency and client relationships at all levels to create awareness and demand for IGN offerings.
  • Develop, coach, and manage direct reports, supporting each seller's pipeline and in-market activity.
  • Work with sellers to hit and exceed quotas, providing feedback and mentorship to increase sell-through of IGN programs and sponsorships.
  • Help author and create marketing collateral to position IGN and support large-scale programs.
  • Review and provide feedback on RFP ideas, proposal submissions, and collateral to enhance business proposal success.
  • Use a creative and consultative sales approach to deliver innovative solutions that produce measurable results.
  • Communicate needs to generate and grow revenue, working closely with the VP and SVP of Sales and cross-departmentally.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Creative Strategy, Sponsorships & Partnerships, Revenue Operations, and Content to support sales efforts.
  • Attend client meetings, sales calls, and industry events, providing feedback to develop sales team growth.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of sales experience with a minimum of 3+ years in sales management.
  • Proven track record of managing sales professionals and successfully managing sales teams.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Organized, creative, and results-driven mindset.
  • Category-specific client and agency relationships.
  • Experience working with brands such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Microsoft, Samsung, and others is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and maintain a positive attitude under stress.
