Senior Director, Head of US Marketing

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of marketing and brand strategies and the execution of brand tactical plans to support the launch of INO-3107, INOVIO's first commercial product.
• Develop strong product branding, campaigns, and messaging based on approved product labeling.
• Lead the development of healthcare professional (HCP) and patient marketing plans, tactics, and resources.
• Present marketing plans to executive leadership for input and alignment.
• Manage and lead advertising agencies to ensure high-quality brand creative and market-shaping tactics.
• Build strong, credible, and collaborative relationships with key functional groups including sales, medical affairs, regulatory, legal, and others.
• Collaborate with the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) to ensure all brand-related materials are medically valid and supported by labeling.
• Ensure all marketing activities and communications comply with medical, legal, and regulatory guidelines.
• Generate customer insights through qualitative and quantitative market research.
• Synthesize data to uncover market insights that can transform the business.
• Define KPIs and use market insights to refine and optimize marketing tactics.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure sales teams are prepared and resourced to meet sales targets.
• Oversee field guidance to ensure effective deployment of promotional campaigns.
• Plan and manage the marketing budget to allocate resources to high-impact initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
• 8+ years in biotech and/or pharmaceutical marketing and sales leadership, with experience leading new product launches.
• Recent US launch and marketing leadership experience required; rare disease therapeutic area experience preferred.
• Ability to manage agency partners to deliver high-quality brand creative and market tactics.
• Deep expertise in pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance, including FDA, OIG, and industry standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
• Analytical thinker who leverages data and insights to inform strategy and performance.
• Proven self-starter capable of working independently across multiple projects.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and build effective working relationships.
• Thrives in dynamic environments with flexibility, resilience, and composure.

Nice to Have

• Experience in rare disease therapeutic areas.

Qualifications
