About the Role

The Senior Director of Product Marketing at Tanium will be a key enabler for all facets of the go-to-market strategy related to the endpoint IT Operations solution portfolio. This role involves developing product messaging, positioning, sales and partner enablement, managing new product launches, revenue planning, and collaborating with the demand generation team. The position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact within a rapidly growing team, requiring a creative, analytical, and highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and experience translating complex topics into compelling narratives. It is a hybrid role based in one of several U.S. locations, with in-person attendance required several days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the voice of the customer and oversee the marketing of the IT Operations suite of products and solutions.
  • Manage the product & solutions go-to-market plan aligned with revenue goals and develop marketing assets and execution plans for major launches.
  • Analyze the market, buyers, trends, industry-specific problems, and competitors to create strategic positioning that differentiates Tanium in the endpoint ITOps market.
  • Identify target personas, understand their key business problems and pain points, and articulate Tanium's value proposition to drive desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, sales leadership, enablement, customer success, and marketing teams across all activities.
  • Leverage content creation skills to develop sales tools, whitepapers, one-sheets, event collateral, and thought-leadership content.
  • Work with demand generation teams to execute targeted campaigns that drive pipeline.
  • Partner with sales and product teams to facilitate feedback and improve product positioning and sales enablement tools.
  • Conduct market research, including buyer interviews, to inform marketing content and generate actionable insights.
  • Present to customers, partners, and sales teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product marketing, solutions marketing, or outbound product management.
  • Experience crafting go-to-market strategies including pricing and packaging.
  • Experience marketing enterprise software solutions addressing cybersecurity issues within IT Operations.
  • Experience in a business-to-business enterprise software company.
  • Deep understanding of technology and ability to translate technical concepts to business needs.
  • Experience developing presentations for customers, sales teams, and partners.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort speaking to all organizational levels, from entry-level to C-suite.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, rally teams around strategies, and balance creative intuition with data-driven insights.
  • Excellent business judgment, prioritization skills, and ability to operate in ambiguous environments.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and influence.

Nice to Have

  • MBA degree.
  • Understanding of basic branding principles such as brand identity, building equity, and brand voice.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Marketing or equivalent experience required.
  • MBA strongly preferred.
