About the Role

Tyson Foods is seeking a Senior Manager for Commerce Marketing in the Grocery sector. The role involves leading the development and execution of shopper marketing strategies for Tyson's portfolio of brands, supporting growth within the retail industry. The position requires managing cross-functional teams, developing strategic plans, and collaborating with retailer partners to achieve business objectives. The role is based at Tyson's World Headquarters in Springdale, AR, and involves domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of shopper marketing strategies and plans for Tyson's brands to meet Grocery team and brand objectives.
  • Understand Grocery Channel strategies, analyze consumer insights and trends to identify key opportunities, and develop annual plans for retail partners.
  • Conduct annual planning workshops with Tyson Brand Teams and Tyson Sales Teams.
  • Develop programs with a strong return on investment and analyze past program performance.
  • Manage and maintain annual budgets and secure alignment among key stakeholders including Tyson Marketing Analytics, Sales Teams, Brand Teams, and Retailer Marketing and Merchandising Teams.
  • Engage Tyson's Shopper Insights Team to provide insights-based rationale for plans.
  • Conduct Strategic Business Analyses and identify Key Business Drivers for program performance.
  • Develop and execute launch plans for Tyson innovation brands.
  • Manage the Grocery Shopper Marketing Team and coordinate with agency partners.
  • Provide weekly commentary, recommendations, and optimizations based on Marketing Analytics reporting.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams, agencies, and external partners to execute programs.
  • Manage Team Travel Expense budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in marketing or another business-related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, sales, insights, and/or agency within Food or Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
  • Experience working with Grocery retailers, advertising agencies, and marketing brands in a retail environment.
  • Strong understanding of Grocery Retailers and Retailer Media Networks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong public speaking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with syndicated data systems like Nielsen, Mintel, or Retail Link.
  • Strong project management, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams, influence others, and work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
  • Experience managing agency relationships from creative concept to execution.
  • Supervisory experience managing up to 3 team members and coordinating with agency teams.
  • Ability to motivate, delegate, and develop team members.

Nice to Have

  • Food or CPG experience.
  • Past Shopper Marketing experience.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in marketing or related business field; MBA preferred.
