Senior Software Engineer - SDET (Remote)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test cases for Java APIs and UI components using tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in test automation and quality assurance.
• Ensure compliance with DevOps and CI/CD standards.
• Deliver scalable test solutions for enterprise applications.
• Analyze software requirements and use cases.
• Implement and document test scripts aligned with design specifications.
• Develop and execute automated unit, integration, and UI tests.
• Compile and report test results to ensure functional and visual correctness.
• Build and maintain test frameworks for full-stack applications.
• Address both functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, accessibility).
• Support operations and maintenance of test infrastructure.
• Identify and implement improvements in test coverage and reliability.
• Provide technical support for critical issues.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
• Evaluate and integrate new testing tools and frameworks.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to roadmap and architecture discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5 years' experience with software development, basic coding, software architecture/design, user requirements definition, and software specification development.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Healthcare and/or Payer Industries.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and UI testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency in integrating and testing complex systems across front-end and back-end layers.
• Familiarity with modern UI frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.
• Experience with REST API testing tools such as Postman or RestAssured.
• Knowledge of accessibility and cross-browser testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
• Experience with full-stack application testing.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Experience mentoring or leading junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years' experience in Healthcare and/or Payer Industries.
