About the Role

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position. Annual salary is just one aspect of Steampunk's total compensation package for employees. Key Responsibilities

  • Testing and verification of code, reporting and recording defects, coordination with architects, functional analysts, and developers on testing and testing results.
  • Documenting test scripts, participating in design reviews, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities.
  • Working in an Agile environment and participating in scrum ceremonies and product planning activities.
  • Understanding stakeholder needs and conveying this to developers.
  • Writing test plans, creating test cases, test procedures, bug reports, and final QA reports.
  • Managing test data architecture definition and requests.
  • Troubleshooting errors and streamlining test procedures.
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results, including data validation, functional, performance/load, usability, and accessibility testing.
  • Establishing automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automation.
  • Providing validation testing for cloud migrations and developing automated testing scripts.
  • Automating and improving development, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Ensuring systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Collaborating with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes.
  • Documenting environment states, performing gap analysis, and producing artifacts with options and recommendations.
  • Leveraging virtualization and containerization to optimize testing systems.
  • Working with teams to improve DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Engineering and implementing solutions and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Presenting status updates and cross-training team members.
  • Acting as an individual contributor and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

  • Must have current FPAC Clearance.
  • BS Degree in an IT field or BS in a non-IT field with 2 years related IT experience.
  • 5+ years of total experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket.
  • 3 years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages.
  • 3 years of application DevSecOps experience with active development in an Agile environment.
  • Experience utilizing Docker containers and platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with data teams/projects.
  • Experience with performance and load testing.
  • Must have experience with AWS.
  • Must have experience with JIRA Xray.
  • Must have been cleared by USDA within the last 30 days or have an active USDA Clearance.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as CAST (Certified Associate in Software Testing), ISTQB, or 508 DHS Trusted Tester.
  • Experience implementing test automation using tools like Selenium, Appium, SoapUI, RestAssured, Postman.
  • Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines including performance, security, and functional tests.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Experience documenting environment states, performing gap analysis, and producing artifacts.

Qualifications

  • Current FPAC Clearance.
  • BS Degree in an IT field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of total professional experience.
