About the Role

This position will assist on both the Monroe and Polkton campuses working under the direction of the Manager of Marketing. The student will help to create content (written and multimedia) that will help local students and their parents understand the benefit of attending South Piedmont. This content will be distributed via social media, newsletters, printed materials and will be included in the communications plan for UC Guarantee, a joint initiative by South Piedmont, Wingate and Union County Public Schools to better educate students and parents about their post-secondary options. This person will provide invaluable perspective into the South Piedmont story, allowing us to portray the College more authentically and reach our target audience more efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Help to create written and multimedia content for social media, newsletters, printed materials, and communications plans.
Assist in portraying the South Piedmont story authentically to reach the target audience.
Support marketing efforts related to the UC Guarantee initiative.

Requirements

Good communication skills.
Familiarity with social media.
Interest in marketing, communications, or public relations.
Ability to work independently and as a team.

Qualifications

Students must have completed a current year's FAFSA.
Be eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
Be enrolled at South Piedmont Community College.
Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress (GPA of 2.000 or higher, a completion rate of 67% or higher, not exceeding the maximum timeframe of 150%).
