About the Role

The Social Media Specialist, Apartments.com - Richmond, VA, is responsible for onboarding clients, managing client social media accounts, product delivery, and coaching clients on social media. The role involves managing all aspects of social media programs, creating content, monitoring campaigns, and engaging with online audiences to support apartment communities across the country. This position is within CoStar Group, a leading provider of real estate information and online marketplaces, and is part of the Apartments.com network, which offers digital advertising, social and reputation management, and market analytic solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and manage multiple client social media accounts across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and Google
Create original written, brand-appropriate, and visual content for all social media channels
Schedule planned posts using third-party scheduling tools
Engage and connect with online audiences, fans, and consumers on various social platforms
Monitor social media channels for timely responses to customer feedback and reviews
Organize, create, launch, and monitor paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram
Collaborate with teammates across departments, implement customer feedback, and develop best practices
Ensure high-quality, brand-focused content through a critical review process
Serve as point of contact to clients for social media reporting, recommendations, and collaboration
Handle customer service issues, escalations, and communicate proactively about issues
Stay informed on current trends, technologies, and advancements in social media
Balance daily and weekly deadlines with department initiatives

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, Communication, or related discipline
1+ years of social media marketing experience
Strong writing and communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and style
Familiarity with major social media platforms
Ability to meet deadlines and be detail-oriented
Ability to use independent judgment to highlight the customer's brand and voice
Customer-first attitude and adaptability in writing voice
Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Strong typing speed with high accuracy

Nice to Have

Familiarity with basic design principles and lightweight visual design tools like Canva
Creative mindset and passion for helping local businesses

Ability to produce engaging content naturally

Qualifications

Formal educational background with a Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 1 year of social media marketing experience
