Software Engineer in Test

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve upon existing test automation frameworks to ensure efficient and reliable testing processes.
• Test distributed applications across multiple layers of the technology stack, including functional and regression testing.
• Interpret business requirements and translate them into stories and acceptance criteria for implementation.
• Identify risks and develop contingency plans to address potential test automation issues.
• Work independently within Agile Sprint and Kanban teams to deliver quality software solutions.
• Utilize and maintain automation tools and frameworks such as Cucumber, Java, Rest services, and others.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including planning, analysis, design, coding, testing, and problem resolution.
• Work with cloud-based services like Azure and AWS, and virtual databases such as Delphix.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of test automation development experience using Java or similar language.
• Experience testing distributed applications at multiple layers of the technology stack.
• Proven expertise with test automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Java, and Rest services.
• Knowledge of data validation and processes including SQL, DB2, and Oracle.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with tools like JIRA and XRAY.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD processes including Maven, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and Sonar.
• Understanding of SDLC, coding standards, code reviews, source code management, and build processes.
• Knowledge of Cobalt language, VSAM files, Batch processing, and IOM (Input/Output Modules).
• Experience in the Financial Services domain, preferably with mutual funds, stocks, or managed accounts.
• Experience working with virtual databases like Delphix or data mockup tools like Wire Mock.
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure and AWS.
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret business requirements and develop test strategies.
