About the Role

Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer (Quality Assurance) to join a team working on rewriting the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Wadsworth Center's Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) and other information systems. The position involves developing automated testing scripts for web-based applications, maintaining testing processes, participating in release management, and contributing to documentation and code orientation sessions. The role supports the Wadsworth Center's mission to protect and promote the health of New York's citizens as part of the New York State Department of Health's efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing automated testing scripts for web-based computer applications.
  • Maintain unit tests and testing processes to ensure application conformity with business requirements.
  • Implement change management and participate in the release management process.
  • Author documentation in repositories and participate in code orientation sessions.
  • Perform other appropriate related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and two years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis; OR four years of such experience.
  • Experience developing automated tests for web applications and utilizing automation software tools such as Cypress.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and using SQL and scripting languages.
  • Experience with Angular.
  • Experience with Karma or another web test automation tool.
  • Experience with OIDC authentication flows.

Qualifications
