About the Role

The ProteinSimple division focuses on rethinking protein tools and helping researchers resolve protein analysis problems to gain new insights into proteins and their role in disease. The role involves using project leadership skills to enable the software development team to perform at a high level, ensuring successful product delivery through test planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and prioritize technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative, fast-paced environment
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers across manual and automated testing disciplines, working on software for all product lines developed in San Jose and Wallingford facilities
  • Define, implement, and maintain QA methodologies, test strategies, and best practices in accordance with corporate QMS
  • Oversee the execution of software verification activities, including SOPs and configuration management for non-product software
  • Be the agile champion and pragmatist, driving best practices within engineering and product to ultimately release products to customers successfully
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, product management, regulatory) to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software lifecycle
  • Ensure all scrum meetings are successful, including backlog grooming, planning, standups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Analyze and report on QA metrics to drive data-informed decisions and process improvements
  • Support production deployments and troubleshooting of developed solutions with technical and field support teams
  • Identify talent and develop employees, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Work on issues of diverse scope aligned with leadership initiatives
  • Provide input for budget

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)
  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on technical project leadership in software development or software quality assurance
  • At least 5 years of Agile software project management experience or relevant training
  • Attention to detail, organization, and data analysis skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools
  • Understanding of software test life cycle: design, implementation, execution, and review
  • Capable of writing test plans and reports
  • Excellent communication skills and team-work orientation
  • 7+ years of experience leading local and remote project team members

Nice to Have

  • PMP, SAFe, or SCRUM/Agile certification
  • Knowledge of molecular biology/scientific instrumentation
  • Working knowledge of the ISO 9001 environment
  • Working knowledge of Python programming language
  • Understanding of GAMP5, FDA, and ISO regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
  • 7+ years of technical project leadership in software development or QA
  • 5+ years of Agile project management experience or relevant training
