About the Role

As the Manager, Software Quality Assurance, you will lead a dynamic team responsible for ensuring that our software applications meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This entry-level management role involves overseeing the daily activities of quality assurance professionals, coordinating testing processes, and driving continuous improvement in software quality. Your work will directly impact user satisfaction by ensuring that our products deliver exceptional performance and functionality. The role is hybrid, requiring eight days a month in the office, and reports to the Director, Product Software Engineering, within Wolters Kluwer's FCC CS Software Development division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily activities of entry-level QA professionals.
  • Coordinate the execution of manual and automated tests.
  • Ensure adherence to QA processes and methodologies.
  • Review and approve test cases and test plans.
  • Monitor and report on testing progress and defect status.
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Implement and enforce quality metrics and standards.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure test coverage.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status and challenges.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.

Requirements

  • Exposure to containers.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools like Selenium, JUnit, or similar.
  • Ability to create and review comprehensive test plans.
  • Proficiency in tracking and managing software defects.
  • Understanding of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
  • Keen attention to detail for identifying quality issues.
  • Basic team supervision and coordination skills.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities related to testing.
  • Willingness to travel around twice a year as per business demand.
  • Experience managing a team of at least 4-5 full-time employees and overseeing 5+ contractors.
  • People management skills including performance reviews, coaching, and development planning.
  • Comfort leading both direct reports and contingent staff in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with software development lifecycle and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Knowledge of additional test automation tools or scripting languages.
  • Previous leadership experience in a technical environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
