About the Role

As Senior Brand Product Manager, you will be a key product leader responsible for owning the vision, long-term strategy, and brand product initiatives for 45NRTH and MSW. You will lead cross-functional teams to develop, commercialize, and deliver brand products, mentor team members, and collaborate with broader brand and strategic teams to ensure alignment with company goals and consumer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manages a specific business-driving product portfolio.
  • Demonstrates leadership by example to the team, emphasizing a connection to the consumer and the importance of product positioning and differentiation in a consumer brand environment.
  • Executes the development plan in alignment with broader brand business objectives and strategies.
  • Plans, manages, and coordinates all brand product development projects with a focus on cross-functional partnership and communication.
  • Partners with Supply Chain and sourcing to build and manage relationships with suppliers, establishing strategic redundancy plans as necessary, and assisting in negotiations around costing, lead-time, MOQ, and capacity planning.
  • Works with Product Safety, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Industrial Design to establish and meet expectations for qualification and quality assurance, ensuring detailed documentation is stored and communicated to suppliers.
  • Conducts pre-kickoff costing and ROI exercises to establish minimum viability thresholds and ensure development projects will meet established margin goals.
  • Collaborates with Project Management to establish development calendar, highlighting critical milestones, identifying risks, and developing mitigation plans as needed.
  • Collaborates with Brand Director, Marketing, Industrial Design, and Creative teams to identify consumer trends, articulate strategies, and communicate product plans.
  • Sets and clearly articulates brand product strategies and plans, considering the larger brand and product portfolio, including distributed brands.
  • Partners with cross-functional peers to create pathways and plans for successful project completion from idea to launch.
  • Delivers industry-leading product initiatives that are differentiated, on-trend, and amplify the brand portfolio.
  • Aligns development team on decision making and initiatives related to their areas, utilizing product and market lifecycles.
  • Engages with leadership to develop tools and processes to improve business practices.
  • Informs project prioritization and resource allocation across the product development team.
  • Presents key brand product initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
  • Negotiates with potential and existing brand and OEM suppliers.
  • Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product portfolio work experience demonstrating skills in analytics, team communication, project management, and product expertise.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of a successful product portfolio.
  • Self-motivated and requiring little support from others.
  • Excellent verbal, visual communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Keen understanding of the bicycle industry, distribution channels, and consumers.
  • Adept problem solver with enthusiasm for cycling, possessing technical knowledge and mechanical capability to work on bicycles and components.
  • Ability to utilize market and industry insights to inform strategic vision and product initiatives.
  • Experience in product development, category development, and/or product management, understanding milestones from concept to launch.
  • Ability to build cross-departmental teams, partnerships, and alignment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent change and ambiguity.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Passport and US driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 15-25% annually, including flying and driving.
  • Fulfill requirements of being a Q Approved Driver.
  • Physical ability to perform work on a phone and computer extensively.
