About the Role

System1 is seeking a dynamic Lead Growth Strategist to lead the growth approach for its flagship branded private search product, Startpage. Startpage currently serves millions of loyal users with its unique search and browsing solutions and aims to expand its offerings and support new launches. The role emphasizes creativity over traditional marketing, employing innovative, data-driven tactics rather than standard ad campaigns. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager of Startpage and play a crucial role in shaping the growth of the world's most private search engine.

Key Responsibilities

Architect Startpage's marketing initiatives to expand reach, app installations, and browser usage.
Manage both non-paid growth initiatives such as content creation, organic social media, offline stunts, and exploratory budgets across multiple marketing channels.
Explore channels including in-person pop-up campaigns, viral social media content, app store ads, TikTok campaigns, brand collaborations, and influencer marketing.
Author compelling business cases on strategic focus areas for Startpage.
Analyze industry data, target and engage audiences through diverse channels like podcasts, forums, and direct promotion to existing users.
Develop and monitor KPIs to measure the success of marketing initiatives and make data-driven decisions to scale or adjust efforts.
Stay informed about news, viral trends, and industry insights, and integrate new tactics to enhance marketing efforts.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in growth marketing or a similar role with a focus on innovative, non-traditional strategies, preferably in a tech or digital product environment.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate full-funnel performance of various channels.
Proven expertise in owning and allocating marketing budgets for multiple channels and tools, including TikTok, Facebook, Snap, Instagram, and influencer marketing strategies.
Significant experience collaborating and communicating with the highest levels of an organization.
Experience with growing a subscription-based business is a plus.
Experience with mobile app growth and tools like Adjust & Amplitude is a plus.
