The role of Sr Mgr, Marketing Loyalty involves leading promotional strategy, partnership with business units, and driving consumer engagement through effective promotional and coupon planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in divisional merchandising strategy sessions and implement go-to-market monthly promotional strategies to meet customer and business goals.
  • Build category-level bi-weekly promotional plans that deliver on event criteria, themes/claims, or pre-defined category KPIs.
  • Develop category and branded coupon offer pools supporting ad plans to drive customer engagement and unit lift beyond base forecasts.
  • Ensure brand-level promo and coupon plans drive unit lift and profitable sales growth while addressing funded promo/coupon plans that may underperform.
  • Support Category Managers in aligning vendor promo submissions with category guardrails and maximizing impact of scan backs and coupon funding.
  • Establish clear activity roadmaps that deliver the company's ambitions, including changes in promotional strategies and processes.
  • Identify participating categories, brands, and programs for mass market promotions and personalized coupons based on projected impact.
  • Develop and evaluate category ad blocks and personalized coupon deals using impact projections to approve or reject offers.
  • Use data to develop measures and metrics that provide actionable insights, and support analyses to identify drivers of trends.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, including cross-functional SVPs, through strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Create strategies to improve programs and processes that drive service and productivity improvements.
  • Continuously evaluate performance against category KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive KPIs such as SKU count, offer strength, purchaser count, savings percentage, and deal simplicity score.
  • Balance promotional deals, depth, and frequency to meet forecasted KPIs like sales/margin lift.
  • Evaluate coupon programs and offers for impact, refining future strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Assign timelines and accountabilities for initiatives, empowering teams to complete action steps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity, partnering with relevant teams to implement new technologies.
  • Communicate and align with Category Managers and vendors on optimized coupon discounts.
  • Leverage data, insights, and analytics to influence stakeholders and make strategic recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of developing, implementing, and executing retail merchandising and/or marketing programs.
  • 8+ years of successful leadership experience in a highly competitive multi-unit environment, including retail, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals.
  • 8+ years of experience understanding and resolving complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time.
  • 8+ years of collaborating effectively across different business functions and leadership styles.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, up to 20% of the time.

  • 10+ years of developing, implementing, and executing retail merchandising and/or marketing programs.
  • 10+ years of successful leadership in a highly competitive multi-unit environment, including retail, healthcare, or pharmaceuticals.
  • 10+ years of experience taking decisive action while considering broader organizational dynamics.
  • 10+ years of leading under pressure, adapting to changing dynamics, and finding solutions that satisfy multiple stakeholders.
  • 10+ years of understanding and resolving complex situations to deliver impactful solutions in real time.
  • 10+ years of excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • 10+ years of experience leading large organizations and managing multi-million-dollar business units.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a preferred Master's degree.
