Sr Quality Engineer Technologist / CWI

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
• Create, implement, and document methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
• Design and assess inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment, and conduct quality assurance tests.
• Use lean and six-sigma quality methodologies and utilize quality tools to help drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in the creation of inspection plans.
• Use weld expertise to assist other functions as the onsite subject matter expert.

Requirements

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline with at least four years of related experience, or the overall equivalent.
• Current AWS / CWI certification.
• Solid understanding of Quality Assurance / Quality Control fundamentals and concepts.
• Experience operating within ISO 9001 standards.
• Background in problem solving techniques and analysis (A3, DMAIC, etc.).
• Experience using standard and industry related software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database applications such as Oracle or TipQA.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to provide guidance and extend mentoring to others.

Nice to Have

• Combat vehicle inspection experience.
• Experience creating and documenting inspection criteria.
• Oracle and TipQA computer applications experience.
• Experience working in a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD.
• Formal training in root cause analysis.
• Metrology experience (Faro Arm, CMM, etc.).
• Paint inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
• At least four years of related experience or the equivalent.
