About the Role

As a Sr Quality Test Engineer at 3M, you will be part of a team responsible for designing, testing, and commercializing software and electronic products and systems for the safety industry. This role involves collaborating with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to develop test plans, identify issues, and ensure high standards of quality for safety products. The position offers an opportunity to work with innovative and diverse global teams, supporting digital growth programs and making a meaningful impact in the safety industry.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases for new and existing software and electronic safety products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and ensure test coverage.
Conduct manual and automated testing to identify defects and ensure functionality, performance, and security.
Track and report on testing progress, defect metrics, and overall quality status to stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement in QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
Coordinate work of external resources and vendors where appropriate.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software testing and quality assurance.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified before start).
Seven (7) years of experience working in software or electronics quality and testing in a private, public, government or military environment.
Experience with both manual and automated testing techniques.
Proficiency in test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Work location: on-site at 3M Center, Maplewood, MN.
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience as a QA or test engineer or in a similar role with a strong background in software testing.
Experience with mobile application testing.
Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or higher.
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in software or electronics quality and testing.
