About the Role

New Jersey's academic health center, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS), takes an integrated approach to educating students, providing clinical care, and conducting research to improve human health. RBHS includes eight schools, centers, and institutes focused on areas such as cancer, neuroscience, biotechnology, environmental health, and health policy. The faculty are experienced teachers, clinicians, and scientists advancing medical innovation and patient care. The university offers education in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, nursing, biomedical research, and allied health careers. Clinical and academic facilities are located throughout New Jersey, with partnerships including Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and others. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and regularly update all department social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) with engaging and relevant content.
  • Assist in developing and implementing digital marketing strategies to promote departmental events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Create graphics, flyers, and promotional materials using tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to improve engagement and reach.
  • Collaborate with staff to support internal and external communications efforts.
  • Take photos and videos at events for content creation and archiving.
  • Help keep a consistent look and tone across social media and marketing materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Qualified candidate must be registered at a Rutgers University school.
  • Experience in communication or enrollment in a communications course.
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat.
  • Must be patient, disciplined, and sensitive to diverse student populations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, walk, talk, or hear; lift up to 25 lbs.

Nice to Have

  • Experience creating graphics and promotional materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education and experience: registered at a Rutgers University school with experience or enrollment in communication courses.
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat.
