About the Role

The Student Social Media Associate at the University of Texas at Austin is responsible for creating and managing engaging social media content, supporting campaign execution, analyzing performance metrics, and staying informed about social media trends to enhance the department's online presence. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure content aligns with brand standards and contributes to the university's communication goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and curating engaging social media content including posts, graphics, multimedia, and strategy suggestions that engage target audiences and follow brand and style guidelines.
  • Help coordinate and assist with photo shoots and video creation, potentially appearing in them.
  • Capture live social media coverage at events by working closely with the social media team to align efforts with the overall strategies of the department.
  • Collaborate on a social media campaign from concept to completion, including initial brainstorming, developing a rollout timeline and plan, determining assets, creating content, and implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing, creative, and communications teams through the creative lifecycle of projects and campaigns.
  • Help social media team track social media performance metrics, analyze results, and provide reports on effectiveness.
  • Suggest ideas to enhance social media efforts and create reports demonstrating key metrics and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about the latest social media trends and best practices, and help apply research to create posts and campaigns.

Requirements
