About the Role

The SVP, Marketing Intelligence at Warner Music Group is responsible for building and leading the global Marketing Intelligence specialism, overseeing the analysis and strategic application of data to inform and optimize marketing efforts. This role involves transforming data into actionable insights to drive artist brand growth, fan engagement, and marketing performance, partnering closely with regional marketing teams worldwide, and establishing processes, teams, and strategies to support data-driven decision making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a new Marketing Intelligence specialism across WMG that serves global, regional, and local marketing teams with data-driven insights, including Audience Insights, Marketing Analytics, Artist Growth, and Brand Strategy.
  • Deliver a global and regional staffing model to standardize MI services, including talent assessment, skills gap analysis, and external recruitment.
  • Define working processes and responsibilities between the Marketing Intelligence group and key cross-functional stakeholders such as Central Business Intelligence, Technology, Finance, and WMX.
  • Build and lead a team of high-performing specialists across multiple locations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration despite geographic and time zone differences.
  • Define WMG's global approach to Audience Insights, including methodologies, data platform choices, and monitoring market trends and cultural shifts.
  • Build a global and regional Marketing Analytics function to provide timely insights for campaign measurement and optimization, including establishing MMM and MMO capabilities.
  • Partner with technology teams to deliver attribution and efficiency modeling across campaigns.
  • Identify and invest in the right artists through resource prioritization programs and develop targeting methodologies to meet strategic goals.
  • Assess effectiveness and efficiency of marketing resources globally and provide ongoing recommendations to the CMO on resource distribution.
  • Support label teams in developing artist brand purpose, values, and positioning, including stakeholder workshops, brand guidelines, and KPIs.
  • Implement tools and frameworks for tracking artist brand performance and provide insights to refine strategies and address perception gaps.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in related marketing data and insights roles.
  • Experience leading teams across multiple geographies and marketing data specialisms.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience aligning global cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent program management skills with understanding of strategic and operational needs of a Marketing Intelligence team.
  • Passion for music and understanding of the evolving music landscape and record label role.
  • Experience working with data from trusted third-party sources such as the UN, IMF, OECD, and World Bank.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive, action-oriented approach.
