Key Responsibilities

  • Create, store, organize, and disburse all product documentation, observing legal guidelines and best practices.
  • Administer data management processes of the centralized library, respond to information requests, and verify document completeness and format requirements.
  • Create product line documentation in accordance with Dexterity standards, ensuring revision history and control.
  • Work closely with production operations, field operations, and product engineering teams to incorporate product specifications into documentation.
  • Develop and maintain standard operations documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, Installation Procedures, Commissioning Procedures, Corrective and Preventative Maintenance Procedures, Technical Specification Sheets, and training documents.
  • Observe assembly processes and create written assembly instructions, identifying common pitfalls and guiding readers to avoid them.
  • Utilize SolidWorks Composer to generate diagrams and visual aids for assembly instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers and vendors to collect and codify maintenance procedures.
  • Review support cases with engineers and operations teams to create troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist other technical writers in creating documentation and extract tribal knowledge from subject matter experts.
  • Use CMS to structure, organize, and ensure documentation stays current, managing documentation control steps including ECOs and field updates.
  • Contribute to technical training programs by determining content and preparing materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to leverage photos, diagrams, and visuals to improve documentation clarity.
  • Design documentation in a modular way that is easy to update as systems change.
  • Organize, convert, and manage large amounts of documentation for multiple audiences.
  • Experience in designing technical documentation and strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Google Workspace, SolidWorks Composer, Confluence, CCMS (Paligo), and Jira.
  • Bachelor's degree required, STEM preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a technical or industrial writer or equivalent experience.
  • Experience deploying and managing Content Management Systems is a plus.

  • A certificate in technical writing.
