Technology Analyst 2 (Quality Assurance) - Project Assistant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze system specifications.
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure that all objectives are met.
• Implement and monitor manual or automated test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of software products, systems, and applications.
• Evaluate product code according to specifications.
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects.
• Identify and remedy defects within the development process, helping troubleshoot issues.
• Create standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness.
• Drive innovation and streamline overall testing processes.
• Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing.
• Report bugs and errors to development teams.
• Identify potential problems users might encounter.
• Perform verification activities including functional, system, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
• May perform supervisory duties, overseeing a team of analysts.

Requirements

• Six (6) years of broad information technology (IT) experience demonstrating comprehensive understanding of various IT disciplines.
• At least two (2) years of IT experience in quality assurance testing, IT project management, or a related technical role.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
• Understanding of regression testing.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Java or C# (preferred).
• Experience with test management software such as qTest or Zephyr and SQL (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail for identifying software errors.
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills for documenting and relaying issues.

Nice to Have

• Relevant technology analyst certifications such as CSQA, CQIA, CAST, or ISTQB.
• Knowledge of one or more programming languages like Java or C#.
• Experience with test management tools and SQL.
• Understanding of software development methodologies like Agile or Waterfall.

Qualifications

• Educational substitutions: Associate's degree for 2 years of experience, Bachelor's for 4 years, Master's for 5 years, Doctoral for 7 years.
