About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies to enhance testing processes for COTS applications and Atlassian products.
• Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure compliance with system requirements and accessibility standards, including Section 508.
• Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products, including plugins and configurations within Atlassian Data Center tools.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in testing methodologies for complex software/hardware applications, particularly for COTS tools and Atlassian products.
• Participate in risk management assessments and software/hardware development, focusing on user requirements analysis, test design, and selection of appropriate test tools.
• Create, execute, and provide test reports for software and system testing, ensuring alignment with FISMA-related documentation and Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
• Review and assess government test plans and reports for technical accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance with established standards.
• Support the execution of customer acceptance test activities, ensuring that COTS applications and Atlassian products meet end-user expectations and accessibility needs.
• Identify, document, and provide remediation for issues discovered during testing, offering detailed root-cause analysis and recommendations for resolving problems.
• Support the integration of new software and code releases, including security certification testing, by utilizing configuration management tools and ensuring the testing environment is maintained correctly.
• Participate in Agile development processes, including Scrum and SAFe, documenting work in JIRA, and collaborating with teams to ensure continuous delivery.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Five or more years of experience in related field.
• Proficiency in configuring and administering Atlassian Data Center products such as Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Crowd, Bamboo, and Bitbucket.
• Intermediary-level expertise in PostgreSQL for querying and updates to application databases.
• Experience with testing methodologies, automation, and scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and Section 508 compliance testing.
• Strong communication skills for user training, support, and documentation.
• Experience with REST APIs and Atlassian's AI for tool integration and extension.
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and support Atlassian tools and plugins.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience with Jira Query Language (JQL) and JSM Assets Query Language (AQL).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe practices.
• Experience supporting security certification testing and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Five or more years of relevant experience.
