About the Role

The Associate Creative Director (Concept & Copy) - Campaigns at Walmart Creative Studio leads the development of high-impact, 360° marketing campaigns across paid, owned, and in-store channels, with a focus on Back to College and Holiday initiatives. This role requires a strategic, detail-oriented creative leader with exceptional copywriting skills, a strong portfolio, and experience managing teams and agency partners. The ACD collaborates cross-functionally to ensure cohesive brand storytelling and campaign execution, while maintaining high standards of quality and craft. Candidates should bring 10+ years of experience, a passion for innovation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ideate, create, and execute high-volume, time-sensitive 360 campaign creative across all channels (owned & paid). Work cross-functionally with marketing, ops teams, integrated strategy and external agencies to ensure creative cohesion at every touchpoint and successful campaign delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling brand narratives and messaging frameworks that meaningfully differentiate Walmart and resonate with customers during seasonal moments.
  • Build trust and effective relationships with key partners in a large, highly matrixed organization.
  • Develop creative leadership and marketing pitch decks to gain alignment and set the team up for success.
  • Manage projects, growth, and development of mid and junior level creatives.
  • Self-direct and critically think to pursue ways that work better and faster.
  • Manage projects that are on-brief and on-brand, mitigating feedback, and keeping workstreams on track from inception to completion, especially during compressed seasonal timelines.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, culture, and consumer behaviors to inform creative decisions.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and craft throughout the conceptual and execution process.
  • Write for assets and brand campaigns as needed.
  • Oversee production shoots, working effectively with directors, DPs, editors, mixers, etc., to ensure quality and craft.
  • Manage team and high-profile projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and strategic alignment.
  • Quickly scope campaign initiatives, prioritize projects, and proactively manage deadlines.
  • Adapt strategies and creative based on performance data and seasonal shifts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in creative writing, advertising, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in professional advertising agency copywriting, with at least 2 years of management experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering ground-breaking creative campaigns across multiple media including TV/Video, social, digital, experiential, and print.
  • Exceptional portfolio featuring big campaign ideas and innovative thinking.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Slides, Slack, and Figma.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate external agency partners and internal teams.
  • Ability to articulate vision and provide clear, contextual feedback.
  • Organized with diligent follow-through on tasks.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills, capable of selling concepts to senior stakeholders.
  • Deep dedication to craft from concept ideation to execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in editorial content management or related field, or 5 years' experience in editorial content management or related field.
