VCUarts Adjunct Instructor - Center for the Creative Economy

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Potentially teach courses in areas such as Creative Economy, Creative Enterprise, Idea and Concept Development, User Experience, Web Design, and Electives based on need and expertise.
• Examine the contribution of creative ideas to the world economy, focusing on their production and consumption.
• Introduce students to the language of the creative enterprise, including personal branding, business operation, and strategic professional development.
• Expose students to processes and methodologies used to transform ideas and opportunities into sustainable business models.
• Develop students' skills in web design, including front-end and back-end digital languages, processes, and tools.
• Teach topics such as customer expectations, web coding, multimedia technologies, usability and accessibility practices, and techniques for evaluating web design.

Requirements

• Experience or knowledge in web design, including digital languages, processes, and tools.
• Ability to teach courses related to the creative economy, enterprise, idea development, or web design.
• Desire to work with a student population in a collaborative and learning-centered environment.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in additional areas of the Center for the Creative Economy or related fields.
• Experience in teaching or facilitating courses in creative industries or digital technologies.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience or expertise in web design or related fields.
