Job Description

About the Role

The Vice President Marketing at Family Dollar is responsible for the strategic direction of the marketing organization across brand management, retail media, print and digital marketing, and e-commerce platforms. The role involves developing and implementing integrated plans to enhance customer experience, drive customer loyalty and retention, grow share of wallet, and increase customer lifetime value. The position also focuses on monetization efforts with marketing and promotional platforms, strategic partnerships, and revenue generation within marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help optimize print and digital ads, including page count, messaging, and discounting versus EDLP
  • Oversee and engage with CPG and other Non-Endemic Business partners to participate in the retail Media Network through 3rd party monetization suppliers and internal resources
  • Drive monetization efforts through aligning merchant led initiatives and shopper marketing with monetization assets and platforms
  • Develop roadmap to evolve the FD App and Smart Coupons program to increase long term loyalty and customer retention
  • Increase identifiable customer base, 1st party data capture and grow monetizable assets
  • Develop the roadmap for personalization to increase customer relevancy
  • Manage all 3rd Party relationships within Loyalty, eCommerce and Retail media and help identify new strategic and business partners to expand and evolve the monetization enterprise
  • Create and manage annual/monthly expense budgets and revenue goals, ensuring all activities are executed on time and on budget
  • Build a clear and defined customer experience strategy that is focused on the customer and adapt marketing strategies and tactics to satisfy their needs
  • Build support for the effectiveness and efficiencies of marketing ROI; leverage best practices technology to drive and improve results
  • Develop strategic staffing plan for the functional area and build a high performing team of professionals
  • Inspire and mentor team to implement a shared vision and create a top-notch marketing organization
  • Determine strategic direction with third party vendors and advertising agencies, assessing their potential value to Family Dollar
  • Leverage best practice knowledge and benchmarking to support strategic plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 10+ years of marketing experience in Retail and CPG
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - at all management levels
  • Experience selling or buying retail media
  • Ability to build bridges and alliances with business partners, managing expectations and communicating strategies and tactics
  • Proven track record of growing revenue streams and developing retail media monetization
  • Extensive experience in loyalty programs within Retail/Consumer business, delivering measurable increases in customer retention, loyalty, and share of wallet
  • Experience designing and using analytics to make fact-based decisions that improve marketing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Expertise in managing agency relationships, strategic alliance development, and strategic planning
  • Strong change management skills to support marketing transformation
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Sense of urgency to implement strategic ideas and action plans quickly
  • Personal leadership and sound judgment, with experience attracting, hiring, and retaining qualified marketing professionals
  • Technical skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Experience in retail media monetization and retail marketing strategies
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms such as UberEats and Instacart

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of marketing experience in Retail and CPG
