About the Role

The Vice President, Research and Insights at Mastercard will play a key role in shaping the future of products and marketing strategies by providing research, measurement, and insights. This position involves leading a team of market research professionals, developing and implementing market research strategies, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business growth and brand development. The role is integral to maintaining Mastercard's leadership in the payments industry and involves staying at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and expansion of Brand Health by providing research, measurement, and strategic insights.
  • Deliver exceptional outcomes by achieving short- and long-term revenue goals and enhancing Brand tracking capabilities across markets.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within Brand Tracking, collaborating with marketing, regional leads, consumer, and B2B teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of market research professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive market research strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data to generate actionable insights.
  • Identify and analyze consumer trends, behaviors, and preferences to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders clearly and convincingly.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and sales to ensure insights are integrated into business decisions.
  • Manage relationships with external research vendors and partners to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to improve research methodologies.
  • Identify, explore, and implement advanced techniques such as AI and machine learning to deepen insights and support strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Market Research, Business, Statistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in market research, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in market research tools and software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of market research methodologies and consumer insights.
  • Expertise in brand evaluation and effectiveness measures, including global brand studies.
  • Experience presenting at events or webinars and generating thought leadership content.
  • Experience in driving insights that lead to new products and business growth.
  • Reliable business partner with experience in both B2C and B2B models.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and create a culture of learning and action.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of the media landscape and brand growth strategies.
  • Experience in presenting at industry events or webinars.

Qualifications
