Job Description

About the Role

The VP, Marketing at Family Dollar is responsible for the strategic direction of the marketing organization across brand management, retail media, print and digital marketing, and e-commerce platforms. This role involves developing and implementing integrated plans to enhance customer experience, drive customer loyalty and retention, grow share of wallet and customer lifetime value, and lead monetization efforts with strategic partners to generate revenue within marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help optimize print and digital ads, including page count, messaging, and discounting versus EDLP
  • Oversee and engage with CPG and other Non-Endemic Business partners to participate in the emerging retail Media Network through third-party monetization suppliers and internal resources
  • Drive monetization efforts by aligning merchant-led initiatives and shopper marketing with monetization assets and platforms
  • Develop roadmap to evolve the Family Dollar App and Smart Coupons program to increase long-term loyalty and customer retention
  • Increase identifiable customer base, first-party data capture, and grow monetizable assets
  • Develop the roadmap for personalization to increase customer relevancy
  • Manage all third-party relationships within Loyalty, eCommerce, and Retail media, and identify new strategic and business partners
  • Create and manage annual/monthly expense budgets and revenue goals, ensuring activities are executed on time and within budget
  • Report regularly on performance versus expense and revenue targets
  • Build a customer experience strategy focused on customer needs and adapt marketing strategies accordingly
  • Leverage technology and best practices to improve marketing ROI
  • Develop strategic staffing plans and build a high-performing marketing team
  • Inspire and mentor team members to implement a shared vision
  • Determine strategic direction with third-party vendors and advertising agencies
  • Leverage benchmarking and best practices to support strategic plans

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum ten or more years of marketing experience in Retail and CPG
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all management levels
  • Experience selling or buying retail media
  • Ability to build alliances with business partners and manage expectations
  • Proven track record of growing revenue streams and developing retail media monetization
  • Extensive experience in loyalty programs within Retail/Consumer business
  • Experience designing and using analytics to make data-driven decisions
  • Expertise in managing agency relationships
  • Strategic alliance development and strategic planning experience
  • Strong change management skills
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including quantitative analytics
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Personal leadership and sound judgment in team building

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
