Job Description

About the Role

The Vice President of Political Sales will lead TelevisaUnivision's political advertising strategy across broadcast, streaming, and digital platforms. This role is responsible for positioning the company as the premier media partner for reaching U.S. Hispanic voters, driving revenue, and ensuring operational excellence. The VP will collaborate with internal teams, rep firms, political consultants, and agencies to deliver integrated advertising solutions that align with the evolving political landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead political efforts at a national, state, and local level
  • Position TelevisaUnivision as the undisputed leader in reaching the US Hispanic segment
  • Oversee all aspects of the political sales operation, including compliance, pricing, traffic, credit, and collections
  • Manage TelevisaUnivision Political Sales Team
  • Collaborate with consultants, rep firms, and internal departments to achieve optimal results
  • Prospect, build, and maintain relationships with campaigns, PACs, and pollsters
  • Build and maintain relationships at the agency level
  • Identify and capitalize on new opportunities according to political landscape and ad-spending trends
  • Develop, negotiate, and implement custom advertising solutions
  • Achieve fair participation in active campaigns/races
  • Manage inventory effectively through dynamic pricing
  • Maintain an active presence in political and relevant forums
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the political advertising landscape
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams
  • Command of all aspects of a political sales operation (compliance, pricing, traffic, credit & collections)
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Established relationships with PACs, campaigns, and agencies
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Broadcast and digital (streaming) sales experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Background in data analysis and audience segmentation
  • Strategic planning skills for multi-platform solutions
  • Knowledge of media buying workflows for linear, streaming, and digital
  • Familiarity with industry platforms: Strata, Beeswax, Tunnl
  • Eligibility to work in Washington, DC, with some travel required
