About the Role

Undergraduate Intern / Co-op Program Overview - Intern/co-op within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends. Meaningful work and project assignments, networking opportunities with peers and executives, exposure to different divisions of the business, and understanding of MKS Instruments' commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The internship is a Summer program from May to August 2025, requiring candidates to be available for the entire duration.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Business Development Team, Engineering and Business Leaders to assist in identifying, analyzing, and planning for growth opportunities.
Conduct research, identify trends, distill complex information, and present insights that drive decisions.
Execute analytical market studies and follow technology trends.
Map future customer needs to existing Newport capability.
Input on technology/product roadmaps.
Analyze competition and curate growth ideas, creating an analytical ranking process.

Requirements

Education: rising senior in physics, optical, chemistry, biomedical, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science.
Proficient in the Microsoft suite of business tools.
Basic understanding of finance, technology, and data analysis.
Availability for the full internship duration (May to August 2025).

Nice to Have

Business background with a broad understanding of technology.
Engineering background with curiosity to explore business.

Qualifications

Current student status (rising senior).

Benefits & Perks

Hourly pay ranging from $22.00 to $29.00 per hour.
Benefits package including 11 paid holidays, sick time, and 15 paid vacation days accrued biweekly.
Interns working at least 20 hours per week are eligible.
