About the Role

The Amazon Business Development Manager at 3M is responsible for accelerating the company's international growth with Amazon by building and expanding strategic relationships globally. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and international subsidiaries to identify new opportunities, develop growth strategies, and drive sales in a dynamic, high-growth environment. This position offers an opportunity to leverage global market insights and work with innovative teams to influence Amazon's global and regional strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead global business development efforts with Amazon, aligning with 3M's strategic priorities and growth objectives.
  • Collaborate across 3M's matrix organization, including area and local teams, to ensure coordinated execution and resource alignment.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to accelerate sales with Amazon internationally, leveraging data-driven insights and market intelligence.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities across key market segments, customers, and applications.
  • Identify and define new category/product opportunities to meet sales and profitability targets.
  • Influence Amazon's global and regional teams to drive joint business planning and execution.
  • Utilize POS and other data sources to inform strategy, track performance, and optimize sales initiatives.
  • Participate in and lead negotiations, building strong, long-term relationships with Amazon stakeholders at all levels.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Channel, and Application Engineering to drive pull-through sales.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to area and subsidiary personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or International Relations (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Seven (7) years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Nice to Have

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in the consumer goods sectors.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, and retail media platforms.
  • Multilingual capabilities or international work experience.
  • Proven experience working with or managing relationships with Amazon or other global e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong understanding of global markets and cross-cultural business practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or International Relations.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or strategic account management.
