About the Role

Avery Dennison is seeking a Business Development Manager, Automotive DIY to spearhead profitable revenue initiatives within our Graphics North America Division. In this critical role, you'll be the primary point of contact for building strategic relationships with Automotive DIY prospects and other influential partners across the value chain. You'll leverage your expertise to understand market needs for new and existing graphic applications, focusing on lead generation, pipeline growth, and fostering strong customer alliances. Beyond managing key accounts and growing sales with service providers, you'll be at the forefront of creating innovative services and solutions to meet unmet market needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of the automotive DIY market value chain and formulate strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
  • Identify and lead programs to expand sales for strategic initiatives within the Automotive OEM segment, including generating campaign ideas, conducting market analyses, and leading commercialization efforts with cross-functional teams.
  • Understand sub-segment market sizing, trends, and application opportunities; conduct comprehensive Market Opportunity Analyses to align resources and prioritize strategic application areas.
  • Strengthen and cultivate relationships within strategically focused market channels, emphasizing material, platform, and design engineering.
  • Provide product recommendations, technical support, and problem-solving throughout the entire value chain, primarily in automotive applications.
  • Establish pricing programs and strategies to optimize product positioning and market share growth within the segment.
  • Uncover and assess customer and value chain needs, then align solutions to address them effectively.
  • Report forecasted demand, market trends/insights, and fluctuations that may impact customer service and strategic direction.
  • Identify new accounts across North America using networking, digital marketing, referrals, and prospecting methods.
  • Develop an understanding of market conditions, including current and potential customers and competitors, to refine revenue strategies.
  • Manage contracts and coordinate internal functions to ensure alignment on agreements.
  • Assist in developing divisional strategic and operating plans, such as AOPs and strategic plans.
  • Represent Avery Dennison at key market and networking events within the Automotive Aftermarket & DIY Segment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field.
  • 6+ years of commercial experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in key account management, product management, or marketing.
  • Experience selling into the pressure-sensitive and/or automotive aftermarket industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven skills in developing sales penetration and customer growth strategies across the value chain.
  • A passionate pursuit of customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering value and fostering loyalty.
  • Effective collaboration skills and ability to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • High energy, ambitious, results-oriented, and able to operate remotely from headquarters.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Google Suite and Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to travel at least 50%.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Experience in key account management, product management, or marketing roles.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant commercial experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary range of $96,450 - $128,600 per year.
