Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and supports annual marketing and business development plans focused on priorities outlined by firm leaders and/or assigned teams, including thought leadership platforms, communications, and client outreach.
  • Collaborates with Business Development & Marketing department leadership and group leaders to develop annual budgets to support initiatives, specifying key strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Manages day-to-day responsibilities to ensure that assignments and projects are properly managed and aligned with the firm's overall strategic efforts, ensuring exceptional service to clients.
  • Supports the onboarding and integration of lateral lawyers.
  • Develops and supports the implementation of key business development initiatives, including client targeting, campaigns, client seminars, networking events, and other efforts to enhance business development.
  • Engages in research, analysis, and competitive intelligence-gathering.
  • Supports collection and maintenance of CRM-based contact data for marketing planning and mailing lists.
  • Assists in collection and reporting of matter experience.
  • Partners with colleagues to facilitate directory submissions, regional surveys, league table content, lawyer and practice awards, and profile-raising initiatives.
  • Supports coordination of business development training for lawyers.
  • Manages responses to RFPs, pitches, presentations, and other opportunities, including developing proposal and presentation materials.
  • Develops new marketing brochures, edits existing ones, and maintains practice descriptions.
  • Reviews and updates lawyers' bios and practice descriptions to ensure currency.
  • Provides support for seminars, sponsorships, and other local office events and initiatives.
  • Assists with supervision and training of junior team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet firm goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Six or more years of success in marketing, research, management, or communications in professional services or related sectors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse team environments and support demanding needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with shifting priorities.
  • High level of initiative and being a self-starter.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with research techniques and databases used for competitive intelligence.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, team orientation, meticulousness, and results-driven approach.
  • Management experience including performance appraisals, goal setting, and staffing analysis.
  • Ability to lead change processes and improve workflow efficiencies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a legal, accounting, or consulting professional services environment.
  • Experience with operational budget analysis and staffing process management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Six or more years of relevant professional experience
