About the Role

The Marketing Technology team is responsible for delivering best-in-class tools, data, and processes to help teams acquire new customers, drive retention, and grow new business lines across all audiences. The role of the AI Solutions Architect is to lead AI implementation across DoorDash's Marketing teams, identifying high-impact opportunities, designing and implementing solutions, and integrating AI into marketing operations to deliver measurable value. This position reports to the Director, Marketing Technology within the Growth Marketing organization and offers a unique opportunity to shape how AI transforms marketing efforts at a rapidly growing technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end development of AI solutions for Marketing teams, from identifying opportunities to post-implementation optimization, directly impacting marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assess third-party AI platforms and APIs, manage vendor relationships, and ensure seamless integration with our marketing technology stack.
  • Utilize expertise and technical skills to identify creative solutions to data or integration challenges between first-party and third-party tools.
  • Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate ideas before driving adoption across Marketing.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure AI systems have reliable access to clean, relevant data.
  • Implement monitoring and evaluation systems to track the effectiveness and business value of AI solutions.
  • Present AI strategy recommendations and implementation roadmaps to Director+ level stakeholders, with clear business cases demonstrating ROI.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics teams to identify opportunities and implement solutions that enhance customer experience, drive operational efficiency, and support growth initiatives.
  • Create comprehensive training programs, maintain libraries of AI prompts and templates, and develop documentation to enable self-service AI adoption across teams.
  • Drive MarTech adoption and best practices by improving internal tools, processes, and safeguards to ensure personalized, relevant, and high-quality content delivery.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience at the intersection of marketing and technology, with a track record of building solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced SQL proficiency, API integration experience, and basic scripting in Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions beyond basic chatbot usage, working with AI APIs, MCPs, building prompt chains, or deploying models for specific business applications.
  • Experience working with Marketing teams and a solid understanding of performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, marketing operations, or marketing analytics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrate strong cross-functional leadership, with experience influencing Product and Engineering teams without direct authority and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of creating structure where none exists, thriving as the first person in a new role.
  • Ability to measure success through business impact, focusing on practical solutions that deliver high ROI rather than technical complexity.

  • Experience working with AI APIs, MCPs, building prompt chains, or deploying models for specific business applications.
