About the Role

Bloomberg Intelligence ("BI") provides comprehensive views on industries and its key constituents and, combined with the power of the Bloomberg Professional service, gives you unsurpassed depth and breadth at the sector, industry and company levels. Bloomberg Intelligence offers valuable written analysis on 135 industries and 2,200 companies, industry data, and interactive charting and functions from a team of independent experts, giving investment and corporate professionals deep insights into where crucial industries stand today and where they may be heading next. BI Analysts review, check and curate company reported, industry and government data into comprehensive and logically arranged dashboards to support their own research and to provide Bloomberg Terminal users a platform to view and analyze the data as well. The role involves joining the Financials research team as an Equity Analyst focusing on Business Development Companies (BDCs) and Asset Managers, analyzing business models, performance, and strategic directions of key players, and producing research to aid Bloomberg clients in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use sector expertise to produce regular, high-quality research that resonates with institutional investors and corporate users.
  • Track company developments, identify broader macro trends, and manage coverage during the earnings cycle with compelling previews and takeaways.
  • Collaborate across time zones and disciplines, partnering with analysts and strategists in New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
  • Engage directly with industry professionals, including investors, IR teams, and C-suite executives, to deepen insights and sharpen perspectives.
  • Work closely with Bloomberg's Global Data teams to ensure proprietary datasets are clean, complete, and cutting-edge.
  • Maintain and evolve the quality of the data that underpins the research platform.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Equity Research, particularly in Financials.
  • Experience on the buy side or sell side with a solid grasp of BDCs, asset managers, and the broader financial ecosystem.
  • Ability to parse financial statements and perform in-depth quantitative analysis.
  • Strong written and presentation communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Preference for candidates with a CFA designation, MBA, or another advanced degree.
