About the Role

Axis Communications' Business Development, Solutions & Services team is seeking a Business Development Consultant, Could Platforms to join our growing team in the Americas. This role requires a high level of technical aptitude, business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience working within the cloud data platform industry, focused on commercialization and monetization of services business models. This is an onsite role based out of Chelmsford, MA, with some flexibility to work from home. The position involves driving the future of cloud platform services and incubation business initiatives, with a focus on external, consultative customer-facing business development and sales engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert in assigned technologies (Cloud/Connected Services, Data/AI/IOT Platforms) and their related license models, platforms, capabilities, and partner ecosystems.
  • Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the commercialization and monetization activities of assigned incubation business initiatives from early inception to market introduction.
  • Identify and analyze new opportunities for growth, potentially leveraging new partners, business models, markets, and technologies.
  • Analyze and monitor the competitive landscape for Cloud Data Platforms, serving as a resource for market trends.
  • Represent Axis in both internal and external speaking opportunities when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to drive regional market messaging on assigned responsibility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of practical experience as a Business Analyst or in business development, focused on business intelligence and/or cloud platform.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a technically associated field preferred.
  • Practical experience within Enterprise environments: selling/adoption, expectations management, outcome requirements, compliance, service levels, and success metrics.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms and technologies with the ability to have credible conversations with engineers/developers about technical design trade-offs, including platforms, frameworks, scalability, and performance.
  • Proven ability to build strategic and trusted relationships at all levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the proven ability to identify implementation roadblocks, process improvement, and other tactics to ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a virtual team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time within the region.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with computer vision and vision data is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IIoT and Industry 5.0 preferred.
  • Practical experience selling to/within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) channel and to/within ecosystem partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of practical experience in business development or as a Business Analyst, focused on business intelligence and/or cloud platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field (preferred).
