About the Role

The Business Development Manager, BDM, will lead the market development activities of Nucor Insulated Panel Group with architects, designers, engineers, and owners. This role involves promoting insulated panels to architectural, engineering, and design firms, conducting research, attending trade shows and events, traveling within the geographic market, and supporting pipeline management activities. The position oversees the Southern California territory and emphasizes safety, customer support, and market intelligence within a vibrant company culture that values innovation, teamwork, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the market development activities of Nucor Insulated Panel Group with architects, designers, engineers, and owners.
  • Promote insulated panels directly to Architectural firms, Engineering firms, Design Build firms, and targeted Owners/Developers.
  • Conduct research and create targeted activity to support growth initiatives and market NIPG brands.
  • Organize and participate in lunch and learns with targeted customer bases.
  • Attend and present NIPG products at local, regional, and national tradeshows and CSI/AIA events.
  • Travel within the assigned geographic markets to develop basis of design specifications.
  • Follow up on all leads generated through marketing efforts.
  • Support pipeline management activities using Microsoft Dynamics CRM and communicate with sales teams.
  • Maintain high standards of service through professional and responsive communication.
  • Collect and communicate market intelligence and trends.
  • Demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional sales role with experience in architecture, engineering, or design.
  • Ability to demonstrate safety leadership and uphold safety standards.
  • Strong customer support and education focus.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive in a competitive environment.

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of the sales and specification processes.
  • Experience promoting products to architects, building owners, engineering firms, and design-build contractors.
  • Experience driving opportunities through the sales pipeline from inception to close.
  • Knowledge of the construction process, practices, procedures, and documents.
  • Preferred knowledge of CSI master specification and CSI procedures.
  • Combination of technical and interpersonal skill sets.
