About the Role

Comcast Advertising is driving the TV advertising industry forward by delivering ads to linear and digital audiences and pioneering the technology that makes it possible. The company helps brands connect with their audiences across screens using advanced data, technology, and premium video content. The media sales division supports local, regional, and national brands in reaching potential customers through multiscreen TV advertising, while the ad tech division FreeWheel provides comprehensive adtech solutions to facilitate buying and selling premium video advertising across all screens, data types, and sales channels. The Business Development Manager role involves analyzing and evaluating strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures, conducting market analysis, researching competitive activity, and identifying customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and evaluates new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances, and/or joint ventures.
  • Builds detailed strategies to evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Conducts market analysis, researches and monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.
  • Participates in special studies for top management in areas such as operational effectiveness, product positioning, capacity utilization, and operating cost containment.
  • Performs business analysis such as forecast analysis and effectively communicates results to management.
  • Participates and may lead projects related to organizational positioning, growth, and profitability studies.
  • Drafts business plans and deal summaries as needed.
  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Ensures regular, consistent, and punctual attendance and is able to work nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Understands operating principles, owns the customer experience, and promotes a customer-first mindset.
  • Advocates for the company's technology, products, and services, especially digital tools and experiences.
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team, actively seeks feedback, and contributes to a positive work environment.
  • Drives results and growth while respecting and promoting inclusion and diversity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of coursework and experience).
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in business opportunities, business planning, and strategic analysis.
  • Ability to analyze market data, develop strategies, and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong judgment and discretion in handling significant matters.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in media sales, adtech, or digital advertising.
  • Knowledge of the TV advertising industry and related technologies.
  • Leadership experience in strategic business development.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Extensive related professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
