About the Role

The Business Development Manager at Carole Fabrics is a dynamic and results-driven sales professional responsible for driving growth and building strong relationships within the residential interior design trade. This role focuses on expanding market presence, nurturing existing accounts, and generating new business opportunities across Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota. The position involves managing and growing assigned territories, supporting underserved markets, and contributing to the company's goal of becoming the fastest growing, most loved window covering company in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned territory by balancing time between existing accounts and prospecting new ones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, positioning yourself as a trusted resource.
  • Conduct product knowledge training for various customer types.
  • Travel within the territory to identify growth opportunities and support underserved markets.
  • Ensure customers have updated sample books, sales materials, and pricing.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues effectively.
  • Stay informed of competitive activities and market trends.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as call reports and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of retail or wholesale sales experience in the interior décor trade.
  • Extensive knowledge of interior finishes and design trade; experience in window coverings is a strong plus.
  • Proven track record in sales and building partnerships with accounts.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and assertive in opening new accounts and activating existing ones.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, FileMaker, and E-Pic.
  • Ability to travel regionally, including overnight stays.
  • Physical ability to lift samples up to sixty pounds.
  • Passionate about the interior design industry and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in window coverings.

Qualifications
