Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand the corporate licensing portfolio, focusing on scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content licensing to corporate clients.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in corporate research departments, R&D divisions, and information centers across various sectors.
  • Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities in scientific publishing and corporate information sectors.
  • Articulate the value of scientific literature portfolio to clients, demonstrating ROI and business impact.
  • Lead complex licensing negotiations, including pricing, access models, and usage terms.
  • Collaborate with product, content, legal, and technical teams to develop tailored licensing solutions.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics such as revenue growth, client acquisition, and retention.
  • Achieve and exceed annual sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Manage CRM to track revenue progress and generate reports as needed.
  • Conduct regular sales visits to prospects and customers, customizing sales materials to maximize opportunities.
  • Cultivate strong, sustainable relationships with clients to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish strategic business plans for short, medium, and long-term growth in the territory.
  • Uphold company trading and terms policies to protect profitability.
  • Participate in sales meetings, events, and liaise with internal departments to enhance market coverage.

Requirements

  • Some experience (3-5 years) in a sales environment, with understanding of sales demands and support needs.
  • Knowledge of the academic publishing industry.
  • Competent user of MS Office suite.
  • Experience with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.
  • Ability to guide, lead, and advise colleagues based on experience.
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the territory and attend conferences.
  • Target-driven mindset with skills to manage sales budgets.
  • Consultative sales skills and ability to influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with good grammar and spelling.
  • Language skills appropriate to the territory.
  • Good analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with scientific, technical, and medical (STM) content licensing.
  • Experience working in international or corporate sales environments.
  • Additional language skills relevant to the territory.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED).

  • Annual base salary of $115,000 plus a sales bonus (25% if OTEs are met, potentially up to 100%).
