With over 40 years of innovation in optics and imaging, Sunny Optical operates in North America with locations in San Jose, Seattle, Chicago, and now expanding to Boston/New York. The Business Development Manager role is part of the growing North America team, focusing on expanding market presence, developing key customer relationships, and driving new business growth across strategic accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and market expansion efforts in North America, with a focus on identifying and developing key customer accounts.
  • Understand customer product development cycles and decision-making processes to secure design wins.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients to grow account value, identify future business opportunities, and ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Act as a bridge between customers and internal technical teams to coordinate product development, technical support, and seamless solution delivery.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to address customer concerns related to cost, quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and new opportunities; work with internal teams to shape go-to-market strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management.
  • Experience with optical components, imaging systems, or module products is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently manage accounts and drive new business.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in both team-based and matrix environments.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with optical components, imaging systems, or module products.
