Job Description

About the Role

The Business Development Manager is a key leader in supporting the strategic planning and alignment efforts for Hartford HealthCare (HHC). In this role, the Business Development Manager will work side-by-side with the Strategy Directors in driving care coordination and access to the system. They will be responsible for establishing and deepening relationships with practices (employed, ICP and non-employed), employers and retail health locations across the entire State by understanding their business objectives, providing exemplary support and working as their gateway contact with the system. The role involves supporting the prioritization of key initiatives within specific business units, traveling to medical practices, and building connectivity and coordination among providers and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Key leader in the business development team responsible for ensuring the business unit is prioritizing opportunities and focusing on what matters most
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on practices (employed, ICP and non-employed providers), employers, and key community stakeholders
  • Onboard new providers within dedicated business units and introduce them to other providers to build connectivity and coordination
  • Develop and coordinate lunch and learns and talks with provider offices
  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through education, training, and experience with an electronic health record
  • Minimum: 4-7 years sales experience supporting hospital or healthcare growth and business development
  • Understanding of data, analytics, and analysis with the ability to glean key insights that are actionable and meaningful
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to influence others and maintain focus on results
  • Ability to work autonomously and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting hospital or healthcare growth, strategic operations, planning, and working with senior or executive leadership in a matrixed environment

Nice to Have

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience supporting hospital or healthcare growth, strategic operations, planning, and business development
  • Experience with enhancing service line offerings and underserved communities through business development and marketing assessments
  • Subject matter expert in data, analytics, and analysis with ability to interpret large data sets and display key findings
  • Experience working closely with senior or executive leadership in various healthcare functions such as finance, planning, marketing, quality & safety, IT, and nursing

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills
  • Experience with an electronic health record
