About the Role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for managing and strategically growing Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits' business through influential leadership. The role involves supporting accounts across trade channels, achieving revenue and profit targets, analyzing business performance, and identifying market trends to stay ahead of the competition. Key Responsibilities

  • Support accounts in trade channels including Off-Premise, regional, and national customers
  • Accountable for achieving revenue, margin, and gross profit targets as set by the Sales Director
  • Communicate local program spending effectiveness to maximize the company's profits
  • Accurately analyze and project quarterly and monthly business for the assigned territory
  • Provide conflict resolution, remove performance obstacles, and address relationship concerns among key accounts in the region
  • Identify market trends and developments in product categories, geographic regions, and among the entire account base

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience
  • 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience
  • Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record
  • Manage and stay within a budget assigned on behalf of the company
  • Demonstrate a strategic, analytical thought process
  • Understand financial concepts and analyze data to anticipate issues and model solutions
  • Strong communication, organization, and commercial planning capabilities
  • Proficient in using Compass, Diver, Excel, and Proof
  • Ability to understand supplier strategies and align with internal and external teams
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Nice to Have

  • Experience with supplier strategies and capability of aligning with teams
  • Physical ability to perform activities such as sitting, typing, walking, bending, reaching, standing, and lifting up to 45 lbs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (implied by experience requirements)
  • 3-5 years of sales experience or a related bachelor's degree
